History

Mark Allen became involved in karting in 1970 when he competed in the Junior 100cc category, he then moved through to the Villiers class.  It wasn’t long before he was achieving some good results and soon became a front runner at circuits such as Shenington, Rissington and Long Newnton.

His first British Championship was at Dunkeswell in 1979 when he competed in his normal 210 Villiers and also in 125 Gearbox, he won both titles the same day which still stands as a remarkable achievement to this day, especially when you consider one race was immediately after the other and both were over 30 laps!

In 1985 he moved into 250 and competed mainly at Long Circuit Events, he went on to win 5 British Championships and 5 Silverstone Kart Grand Prix titles in his 250 kart.
He also contested the European and World Championships in 250 Superkarts in the late eighties.

When the family moved to Edgehill in 1989 the karting business was established, the garage was a perfect location for a karting business as it is only 3 miles from Shenington Circuit.

It was a hobby that then became a business and a way of life.

The wealth of knowledge gained in so many years of his own racing and later in developing the racing of sons Ross and Scott.

Mark has had involvement in most of the karting classes either through his own racing or that of his sons, it would be difficult to find anybody else who has the range of expertise.
